How We Started

The TO2M brand was started in Los Angeles, California in 2015, with their oxygen release applications for conventional unpowered N95 respirators, but after additional research we discovered that the same technology could be used in conjunction with other TO2M technologies to bring a vast array of potentially life saving and health promoting products.

TO2M’s Technologies

During our manufacturing stage, we can adjust exactly how much of each technology is released in each product. For example, if we want our respirator masks to release more oxygen, we can add more of our oxygen releasing powder or if we’d like to generate more heat or lower the pH more, we can simply add more of the respective powders required to generate that specific effect.

Oxygen (O2) Release

Each of our products releases pure oxygen. For each product, oxygen has been included for a variety of different purposes. In the case of our underpads and bandages, oxygen is important as it has been shown to help improve wound healing and reduce risk of infections through a number of independent and synergistic effects. While in the case of our cosmetic products, it is to boost the oxygen levels directly to the layers of skin that need it; which provides a host of beneficial properties that would otherwise unavailable to users in traditional products.

Active Oxygen Release

In contrast to regular oxygen which exists in a triplet ground state, this form of oxygen is far more reactive. Research has also shown the wide range of antimicrobial properties with this form of oxygen. In fact, as we previously mentioned, active oxygen is used as one of our bodies natural defences against pathogens. We currently use materials which can release active oxygen in our healthcare products such as our feminine pads, diapers, and incontinence products, which may help fight pathogenic or odor-causing microbes. It is also employed in our cosmetic applications which are used to brighten skin tones and smooth over age spots and blemishes. We are also exploring other exciting opportunities in wound care, such as scar reduction therapies which has been researched and proven previously.

Ozone (O3) Release

Ozone at lower concentrations has been shown to induce greater oxygen capacity by red blood cells. It also has antiseptic properties via activation of immunocompetent cells and free radical scavenging. Lastly, it has odor eliminating properties that can be utilized when being embedded in material.

pH Control

This technology allows us to maintain the pH at a target number for a period of time. pH control allows our products to decrease bacterial growth. This may be one of the reasons why our products reduce odor. pH control also creates a more favorable environment for wound healing — this may explain why our underpads are so successful in healing pressure sores and ulcers.

Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Release/Absorption

Having the option to choose whether we absorb or release CO2 is extremely beneficial. As decreasing the concentration of CO2 may decrease anaerobic bacterial growth and may be beneficial for our wound care products in the treatment of chronic wounds through stimulation of vessel growth. While increasing CO2 on the surface of the skin has been proven to increase microcirculation, which can be used for our cosmetic products.

Heat Generation

Increasing the heat in an area of the body increases circulation and oxygenation of that area. This is fairly common knowledge in sports injuries and chronic injuries alike. Heat generation can also be used to simply increase comfort while using any of our products. 

Protective Synergy

 

The most important facet of all of these embedded abilities is our ability to combine these effects.

For example, our feminine pads produce oxygen and maintain lower pH to reduce bacterial growth and increase comfort through inhibition of anaerobes and typical native flora in the vaginal area. These same actions also decrease moisture and humidity naturally, further potentiating the effects. In our wound care line, while oxygen alone can reduce anaerobic microbes, when coupled with a lower pH, decreased humidity, active oxygen and/or ozone, all of which alone can reduce pathogens, can be used in conjunction to synergistically disrupt the optimal growth environment of potentially harmful microbes.
